Saudi Aramco’s gas production reached an "all-time high" in 2016, the company announced in its annual review. Aramco intends to continue to expand its output through exploration, shale development and investment in existing fields in a bid to meet Saudi Arabia’s domestic demand with its own resources.

Aramco processed 340 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d) of raw gas in 2016, an increase of 3.4% from 2015 and the highest level of annual growth in four years. Sales gas production reached 234.5 MMcm/d.
