UK-based Solo Oil and IO Oil & Gas Consulting are to undertake a gas commercialisation study in Tanzania on the Ntorya field in the Rovuma acreage.
IO is a joint venture between Baker Hughes and McDermott. The study will examine options for gas monetisation, with the gas likely to be used to supply the local market.
If the gas is connected to the local pipeline, Baker Hughes and Mott Macdonald may contribute to creating the necessary infrastructure, Solo said.
