Shanghai-listed Guanghui Energy said on Thursday it plans to expand the capacity of its LNG terminal in Qidong, Jiangsu province to 3 mtpa by the end of 2019.
The project’s first phase is undergoing trial operations and has a capacity of 650,000 tpa. Guanghui could further expand the terminal’s capacity to 5 mtpa by 2024.
The company is in talks with Malaysia’s Petronas over a long-term supply contract.
