Total delays startup of Martin Linge field

By Staff reporter 6 July 2017

France’s Total has delayed the startup of its Martin Linge field offshore Norway until 2019 following an accident at a South Korean shipyard where modules for the project were being built.

A crane collapsed at the Geoje yard, operated by Samsung Heavy Industries, on 1 May, killing six people.

Total said the installation of the modules, which can only be done during the summertime, would have to be postponed from 2017 to 2018, pushing back startup by a year.
