By Staff reporter 4 July 2017

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water has selected Alghanim International to build the third extension of the gas-fired Sabiya combined-cycle power plant.

The extension, which will be built under an EPC contract, will add an extra 900 MW of capacity to the plant.

The plant will start simple-cycle operations in winter 2019. Commissioning of the combined-cycle operations is scheduled for the end of 2020.
