Shell and Ophir face Tanzania legal issues

Tanzanian businessman Moto Mabanga has filed a lawsuit against Shell and Ophir Energy claiming he was unlawfully expelled from an exploration deal in southern Tanzania.

Tanzanian businessman Moto Mabanga has filed a lawsuit against Shell and Ophir Energy claiming he was unlawfully expelled from an exploration deal for blocks 1, 3 and 4 in southern Tanzania, the Daily News reported.

Mabanga says he was coerced into signing a termination agreement that expelled him from the blocks and that the termination contract, worth $7.5 million, was undervalued.
