Freeport LNG submits FERC application for fourth train

The Freeport LNG project has submitted an application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a fourth liquefaction train.

The Freeport LNG project has submitted an application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for authorisation to construct and operate a fourth liquefaction train.

Developers of the United States-based project have started FEED for Train 4, which would have a capacity of 5.1 mtpa, the company said in a release.

Freeport plans to begin construction by the end of 2018, with startup scheduled for 2022. The first three trains are under construction and are scheduled to start operations between Q4 2018 and Q3 2019.
