Ghana has requested an extension to an International Monetary Fund loan that was due to expire in April 2018, according to Reuters.
Ghana has asked for an extension until December 2018.
The loan has been a major talking point since President Akufo Addo took power in January.
Large factions of the government have opposed renewing the loan, and the request to extend could indicate that growth targets outlined in the budget have not been met in H1 2017.
