Polish gas demand bucks trend in BEMIP region

Poland is the only country covered by the Baltic Energy Market Interconnection Plan where gas demand is expected to grow over the coming years

Poland is the only country covered by the Baltic Energy Market Interconnection Plan (BEMIT) where gas demand is expected to grow over the coming years, according to a report published by the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas this week. The countries under the BEMIT plan are the three Baltic states plus Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. 

From 2015 to 2025, the report’s ‘European Green Evolution’ scenario foresees an increase in demand of 3%...
