Snam increases its influence in Europe

The recent appointment of Marco Alverà as president of GasNaturally is a further step towards consolidating the role of Snam as a giant in the EU gas network

The appointment of Marco Alverà, chief executive of Italian transmission system operator (TSO) Snam, as president of GasNaturally, the European gas lobby group, is a sign of Snam’s growing influence in Brussels.

For just over a year, Alverà has been working to expand Snam’s presence beyond Italy’s national boundaries, a strategy set out by his predecessors in the 1980s.
