Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has discussed deepening his country’s cooperation with the United States in the energy sector.
"We discussed the issues of energy cooperation and energy security separately," Poroshenko said at a briefing in Washington on Wednesday.
The parties discussed the possibility of Ukraine buying coal from the US to replace coal from the Donbas territories, which are currently not under Kiev’s control, he said.
