By Staff reporter 20 June 2017

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) and Uzbekneftegaz have started gas production at the Dengizkul, Khodjadavlat and Sharkiy Alat gas condensate fields in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan, according to the Jahon news agency.

The project will cost $377.5 million and is expected to produce more than 1 billion cubic metres per year of gas for export.

The condensate fields were opened as part of an agreement signed between CNPC and Uzbekneftegaz in 2006 for geological exploration of Uzbekistan’s investment blocks.
