A draft bill passed by the United States Senate that could lead to further sanctions on investors in Russian energy projects has angered Germany and other partner countries in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project.

The draft sanctions passed by the Senate target Russian industries and the energy sector in particular. The bill would also give Congress the power to limit the ability of the White House to ease sanctions on Russia.
