EU to invest $126 mln in Polish gas grid

The EU will invest €112.5 million from the European Regional Development Fund to help build a gas pipeline between Lwówek and Odolanów in Poland’s Wielkopolska region.

The EU will invest €112.5 million ($126 million) from the European Regional Development Fund to help build a gas pipeline between Lwówek and Odolanów in Poland’s Wielkopolska region, the European Commission said on Wednesday.

The pipeline will connect the Swinoujscie LNG terminal in northwest Poland to existing gas transmission, storage and distribution infrastructure. It has been named as an EU Project of Common Interest and has the potential to export gas to Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the commission said.
