China imported 25.5 mt of LNG and pipeline gas in the first five months of 2017, up by 13.2% year on year, according to a data release from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on Thursday.
This indicates China imported 5.4 mt of gas in May alone, up by 56.8% year on year, according to calculations by Interfax Natural Gas Daily. This is the strongest gain in more than two years.
