Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has said he is open to exploring the South China Sea’s natural resources with rival claimants China and Vietnam, according to ABS CBN news.
Duterte emphasised that the deal would have to be fair and balanced, but that he was willing to cooperate if it was ”no hassle”.
The International Court of Arbitration dismissed China’s territorial claims in the region last year, effectively ruling in the Philippines’ favour regarding maritime boundary disputes between the two nations.
