Petrobangla may not want Chevron to sell its Bangladeshi gas fields to the Chinese consortium that has bid for them.

Petrobangla may not want Chevron to sell its Bangladeshi gas fields to the Chinese consortium that has bid for them, according to the Dhaka Tribune.

India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corp. and Hong Kong’s United Energy Group also placed bids for the Chevron-operated Bibiyana field in Block 12 and the Jalalabad and Moulvibazar fields in blocks 13 and 14.

These blocks produce around half of Bangladesh’s gas supply, and the government wants a reliable international partner that can maintain production levels.
