Senegal farmouts expected after new gas discovery

Drilling success offshore Senegal is expected to lead to further farmout activity from explorers over the coming years

More farm-outs are expected to take place offshore Senegal after United States-based Kosmos Energy announced a third significant gas find on Monday, sources have told Interfax Natural Gas Daily.

The discovery was made at the Yakaar 1 exploration well, located in the Cayar Offshore Profond, and is estimated to hold up to 425 billion cubic metres of gas, according to Kosmos.
