The number of rigs drilling for gas in the Asia Pacific region increased by 10% month on month in April as four countries resumed exploration. Malaysia brought its first gas-focused drilling rig online in May after a 10-month gap, while Myanmar started exploring for gas again after six months. China started exploring for gas offshore following a three-month gap, while Japan added its first rig exploring for gas since 2014.
