A reduction in Bolivian gas exports to Argentina is straining relations between the two countries, according to local press.

Bolivia exported 15.4 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d) to Argentina between 1-5 May, according to data from state-run YPFB. However, the contract between the two countries stipulates a minimum of 19.9 MMcm/d. La Paz has criticised Buenos Aires for signing an agreement with Chile for gas imports during the forthcoming southern hemisphere winter.
