State-owned Transmission Company of Nigeria will receive $1.5 billion in funding for new projects, according to a report from Vanguard.

The cash, which will be given by donors, will be used to expand transmission networks in Ogun state and elsewhere, including through the construction of new substations. Failing transmission networks are a major issue in Nigeria and one of the factors causing power instability in the country.
