The ruling National Liberation Front and its allies have won a majority in Algeria’s parliamentary elections.

Algeria has been grappling with its public finances since energy prices tumbled, which has led to spending cuts and raised the prospect of more energy tariff reforms for customers. Election turnout was lower than in 2015.
