Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto held a meeting Eni Chief Executive Claudio Descalzi on Tuesday, the Italian company said in a statement.

Descalzi discussed Eni’s activities in the shallow waters of the Campeche Bay, where the company has drilled the Amoca 2 well.

The well was the first to be drilled by a foreign oil major in Mexico since the 2013 energy reforms.
