Gas-focused drilling in Latin America continued its decline in March. There were 17 rigs drilling for gas in the region during the month, according to Baker Hughes data. This is the fewest number of rigs since records began in 1995. The previous low was 18 in May 1995. The region has lost seven rigs since January 2017 – one each in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and Guyana.
