The Regional Administrative Court of Lazio has dismissed an appeal submitted by the Italian region of Puglia against the country’s Ministry of the Environment, which had confirmed measures to ensure the local environment were being respected at the landfall site for the Trans-Adriatic pipeline (TAP).
According to the court, the ministry is responsible for the monitoring of environmental measures on the construction site now that the pipeline has been defined as ‘strategic infrastructure’. Construction work was suspended on 6 April, but can now resume.
