The Russian government will auction a number of blocks on the Yamal peninsula on 9 June, according to the Russian Energy Ministry.
Participation in the auction, which features gas-rich areas including the Gydanskoye field, will be limited to companies that already hold licences to produce and liquefy gas in the region – namely Novatek, the majority shareholder in Yamal LNG.
