Asia Pacific rig count increases by two in March

The number of rigs exploring for gas in the Asia Pacific region increased by 4% month on month in March, to reach a total of 50

The number of rigs exploring for gas in the Asia Pacific region increased by 4% month on month in March, to 50. Australia added one rig to bring its total up to 12, while Indonesia brought its first rig online since November. Asia Pacific’s total rig count is the highest it has been for 12 months, although it is still down by 2% year on year. India, Australia and Thailand are the most active regions for oil and gas exploration.
