Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City will put nearly 600 CNG buses into operation by the end of the year, according to China’s Xinhua news agency.

The city currently has 256 CNG buses and will increase this number to 841 by the end of 2017.

Ho Chi Minh City is speeding up construction of nine more refuelling stations to meet demand from the bus fleet.

Passengers using CNG buses pay subsidised fares, which is helping to drive demand.
