Tokyo Gas buying stake in Pennsylvania power plant

Tokyo Gas is purchasing a 33% stake in the Birdsboro power plant, which is being built in Pennsylvania.

Tokyo Gas is purchasing a 33% stake in the Birdsboro power plant, which is being built in Pennsylvania, according to the Nikkei Asian Review.

The plant is due to come online in spring 2019 with a generating capacity of 500 MW.

The power station will be fuelled with shale gas produced from nearby basins. Japanese trading house Sojitz has already taken a stake in the project.
