A new gas pipeline running 1,454 km from southern Kazakhstan to China started operating on Friday, according to China National Petroleum Corp.
The company said the pipeline has a capacity of 6 billion cubic metres per year and will transport 5 bcm/y supplied by Kazakhstan’s state-owned Kaztransgaz.
The pipeline is the second phase of the Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline and is part of the Central Asia-China Pipeline network.
