Schlumberger to invest with YPF in Vaca Muerta

Houston-based oil services provider Schlumberger will invest $390 million in the Vaca Muerta shale field in Patagonia alongside Argentina’s state-run energy company YPF.

Houston-based oil services provider Schlumberger will invest $390 million in the Vaca Muerta shale field in Patagonia alongside Argentina’s state-run energy company YPF.

Schlumberger will receive a 49% stake in the 228,500 hectare Bandurria Sur concession, where the two companies will develop a two-phase pilot shale oil project.
