Australia’s LNG exports increased by 8% in Q4 2016 from the previous quarter, exceeding 13 mt for the first time. Total LNG exports for 2016 fell just short of 45 mt, 15 mt more than in 2015. This was the result of the startup of LNG trains on Curtis Island in Queensland and initial exports from Gorgon LNG off Western Australia.
