Algeria plans to invite bids for three photovoltaic solar power plants with a total capacity of about 4 GW, according to the country’s energy ministry.

 Energy Minister Nouredine Bouterfa has announced plans for the tenders but has yet to specify a schedule. Sonatrach would fund about 50% of the cost of the three plants, an official from the company said, according to a Reuters report.
