Gazprom expects larger domestic supply losses in 2017

Gazprom expects its financial losses from supplying gas to Russia’s domestic market will be greater in 2017 than in 2016, Vitaly Khatkov, the head of Gazprom’s Department 817, has said.

Gazprom expects its financial losses from supplying gas to Russia’s domestic market will be greater in 2017 than in 2016, Vitaly Khatkov, the head of Gazprom’s Department 817, told Interfax.

Khatkov did not provide specific figures for 2017, but said the company has made provisional calculations.

"This year, considering that the mineral extraction tax we pay has been increased, we expect [the loss] to be even greater," he said.
