Engie’s Brazilian unit is expecting to receive bids for 1.2 GW of coal-fired power capacity, Chief Executive Maurício Bahr told Reuters on Thursday.
Engie Brasil, which is seeking to sell the Jorge Lacerda and Pampa Sul power plants, has received expressions of interest from more than 10 companies.
Bahr said Engie would continue to invest in renewables and gas.
