FID postponed on Mozambique LNG till Q2 2018

An FID on Anadarko’s 12 mtpa LNG project in Mozambique is now not expected until Q2 2018, according to one of the project’s shareholders.

An FID on Anadarko’s 12 mtpa LNG project in Mozambique is now not expected until Q2 2018, according to one of the project’s shareholders. The developers had aimed to make a decision before the end of 2017.

"We had hoped to have finalised the negotiations with [the] Mozambican government by December. We are four months behind," Hirotatsu Fujiwara, executive managing officer at Mitsui, which holds a 10% stake in the project, told Reuters on the sidelines of the Gastech conference in Japan.
