An FID on Anadarko’s 12 mtpa LNG project in Mozambique is now not expected until Q2 2018, according to one of the project’s shareholders. The developers had aimed to make a decision before the end of 2017.
"We had hoped to have finalised the negotiations with [the] Mozambican government by December. We are four months behind," Hirotatsu Fujiwara, executive managing officer at Mitsui, which holds a 10% stake in the project, told Reuters on the sidelines of the Gastech conference in Japan.
