Takahama nuclear plant injuncton lifted

The high court of Japan’s Osaka prefecture has lifted the injunction against the operation of reactors 3 and 4 at the Takahama nuclear power plant

The high court of Japan’s Osaka prefecture has lifted the injunction against the operation of reactors 3 and 4 at the Takahama nuclear power plant, according to the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum.

A temporary injunction was imposed in March 2016 by the Otsu district court over fears that the evacuation plans made by local authorities were inadequate.

Plant operator Kansai Electric Power can now restart the reactors, but this process may take some time as the fuel was removed during August and September 2016.
