Global wind power grows by 20% in 2015

A total of 64 GW of wind power was installed worldwide in 2015, around 20% more than the year before

A total of 64 GW of wind power was installed in 2015, around 20% higher than the year before, according to a report released by the European Commission on Tuesday. 

Global cumulative installed capacity reached about 430 GW, of which about 140 GW was operating within the boundaries of the EU, according to the JRC Wind Energy Status Report
