Sumitomo, Mitsui sign agreement for Indonesian gas development

Indonesia’s oil and gas watchdog BPMIGAS has signed a co-operation agreement with Japanese companies Sumitomo Corporation and Mitsui as a foundation to carry out joint feasibility studies on gas development projects in Indonesia, it said on Tuesday.

Indonesia’s oil and gas watchdog BPMIGAS has signed a co-operation agreement with Japanese companies Sumitomo Corporation and Mitsui as a foundation to carry out joint feasibility studies on gas development projects in Indonesia, it said on Tuesday.

The projects concerned would mainly be undeveloped small and medium-sized gas fields, according to BPMIGAS.

Simultaneously, BPMIGAS also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Japan Bank for International Corporation (JBIC) as a “co-operation umbrella” for exchange of views and sharing of expertise especially in gas-related business opportunities.
