GreenWish signs solar deal in Nigeria

Paris-based independent power producer GreenWish Partners will spend $280 million on building solar energy plants in Nigeria.

Paris-based independent power producer GreenWish Partners will spend $280 million on building solar energy plants in Nigeria, according to a report from Bloomberg.

The three plants – one 100 MW and two 50 MW – will begin producing electricity from next year.

Investment in solar energy in Nigeria has become increasingly popular over the past year.

The United States-based USAID has played a large role in the development of Nigerian solar power, investing in connections to link off-grid customers to supplies.
