Construction started at Eni’s photovoltaic plant in Bir Rebaa North in Algeria on Saturday.
The plant – which will be operated by Sonatrach – will have an output of 10 MW and will contribute to national grid supply, the company said in a statement on Monday.
The project is part of a broader agreement, signed in November 2016, for the joint promotion and development of renewable energy sources in the region.
