By Staff reporter 17 March 2017

The UK government has given the green light to build the Keuper gas storage site in Cheshire.

The facility will be developed by Keuper Gas Storage, a subsidiary of Ineos Enterprises Group.

It will have a capacity of 500 million cubic metres and will comprise 19 underground caverns and a gas processing plant.

Construction is expected to start this year, Ineos said.
