Gazprom boosting Armenian gas storage capacity

By Staff reporter 16 March 2017

Gazprom is working to increase the capacity of the Abovyan underground gas storage facility in Armenia, said Alexei Miller, the company’s chief executive.

"As of the beginning of the withdrawal period in the winter of 2016/2017, a record 141.6 million cubic metres [MMcm] was injected. The potential volume of this gas storage facility was increased to 160 MMcm. This means that Armenia can now pass through the fall-winter period with a guaranteed reserve of gas," Miller told journalists following Russian-Armenian summit talks in the Kremlin.
