JV set up to build heavy-duty gas turbines in China

Chinese manufacturing company Harbin Electric and General Electric’s China subsidiary will set up a 50/50 joint venture to build heavy-duty gas turbines, Harbin Electric said on Tuesday.

According to the agreement, the two companies will establish a turbine construction base in Qinhuangdao of Hebei province to localise research.

The project will focus on manufacturing GE’s 9F and 9H gas turbines.
