Faroe Petroleum falls flat in Barents Sea well

Oil and gas company Faroe Petroleum has failed to find any oil or gas in the Boné exploration well in the Barents Sea, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Boné well was been drilled to a total depth of 3,501 metres and encountered around 106 metres of gross water-bearing reservoir in the primary target, the Realgrunnen section.

"Our 2017 drilling programme continues, with plans progressing well for the appraisal of the 2016 Brasse discovery this summer," Chief Executive Graham Stewart said.
