The United States’ gas exports to Mexico will be a key topic in the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Texas Senator John Cornyn told Interfax Natural Gas Daily on Friday.

“[US gas exports to Mexico] are going to be an important part of the NAFTA renegotiation,” Cornyn told Interfax Natural Gas Daily on the sidelines of the CERAWeek conference in Houston.

“Obviously the energy picture has dramatically changed over the last 20 years, so I think [US gas exports to Mexico are] a natural area for the monetisation of NAFTA,” saidCornyn. “It will include that,” he added.
