Thailand’s PTTEP has entered into an agreement with Total to divest a 50% participating interest in the Myanmar MD-7 project.

The Thai state company will remain as operator, but wants a partner with deepwater experience to help it carry out the project more effectively.

Block MD-7 covers an area of 779,800 hectares. PTTEP was awarded exploration rights in 2013.
