Mexico’s environmental agency is set to announce guidelines for unconventional oil and gas development by the end of the month, Pemex Exploration and Production Director Gustavo Hernandez told delegates at the CERAWeek by IHS Markit conference in Houston on Tuesday.

Mexican authorities announced last week that an unconventional bid round would take place in October 2017.

"Mexico has high [unconventional] prospectivity, with up to 15-20 billion barrels of oil," said Hernandez.
