Norwegian production beats forecast for second month in a row

Norway’s gas production exceeded forecast levels for the second month in a row in May, data from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has shown.

Production rose fractionally, to 9.1 bcm – 8.8% higher than the volume forecast by the NPD and 2.3% higher than the equivalent figure for May 2012.

The higher-than-expected volumes were delivered despite technical problems at the Skarv, Skuld and Trym fields.

That Norway has beaten production forecasts for the past two months represents a turn around from the situation earlier in 2013 – production levels...
