Iran may start talks with Shell on Kish with no tender

By Staff reporter 7 March 2017

Iran may start negotiations with Shell over the development of the Kish gas field without proceeding with an open tender, Noureddin Shahnazizadeh, managing director of Iran’s Petroleum Development and Engineering Co., has told local media.

Shell is the only company to have registered an interest in the project, said Shahnazizadeh.

Iran signed a basic agreement with Shell last December on studying Kish in addition to the South Azadegan and Yadavaran oilfields.
